No more water in the basement! Mark and our friend Clay worked all weekend fixing the problem so that no more water would come into the basement. It required a mini back hoe, a skid loader, a VERY large hole in the ground, a dented gutter (good job Mark!), tearing down part of our fence, and making a total mess of the yard with all the equipment BUT - I don't care! All that matters is that next time it rains - the basement will stay dry. It's still a mess down there and smells yucky but eventually that will get better. I'm just glad that the problem is fixed!
BEFORE: you can't really tell how "deep" the water is here. It was between a quarter inch and a half inch in spots I think. It wasn't necessarily the depth that was the problem though. It was the fact that it was all over that made it such a mess.

I totally forgot to take a picture of the HUGE hole they had to dig next to the house but this is what it looked like after they filled it back in. Imagine a ten foot deep hole, about four feet across (at least) and it went down past the evergreen trees in the background of the picture.

BEST FRIENDS:

We are blessed to have such good friends that can help us out when we really need it. Thanks a million. I don't know what we would have done without your help!
