The BEST Christmas Program Ever

The boy's Christmas program was at school last night and it was just wonderful! I love our small little community where the kids can actually sing "Christmas" songs about Christmas! The show opened with Benny's Kindergarten teacher doing a duet with the music teacher. She played her flute and he played the piano to "O' Holy Night". It was beautiful! Benny's class sang "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and "When Santa Clause Gets Your Letter". Those little kindergartners were adorable! I swear that class steals the show every year! Patrick had a solo in "Nuttin' For Christmas" and the third graders also sang "What Child Is This". Patrick did great on his solo! The program closed with the lights out and the fourth graders on stage holding candles (battery powered) while we all sang "Silent Night". Of course we know how this story ends...all together now... "and Katie cried". Yes I did. I'm not even ashamed. I cried because I was happy and it was just a beautiful moment in that building. There aren't very many places left where they can still sing songs about the true meaning of Christmas. I feel very blessed to be able to raise my children here in our tiny little town. I don't have any pictures of the actual program because we were too far back but I took some of the kids together at home all dressed up and with Santa at the school.
All dressed up. Not a bad picture - not great but at least they are all facing me :)
Would have been nice though if Grace hadn't been pulling up her dress...
This is the sweatshirt Benny made to wear for the program. That is his foot for the face and hands for the antlers. Isn't that the cutest thing ever?
Really Mommy - I'm not jumping on the couch with my shoes on!
This is the first year that Grace was excited to see Santa! She couldn't wait to tell him that she wanted a lot of PINK for Christmas! Her actual words when she saw him were "I so 'CITED!!!!!"
Patrick told Santa he wants a Wii - Santa said he'd see what he could do ;) Can you believe how tall Patrick's getting? Good grief - I'm gonna have to put a brick on that kid's head!
Benny was all embarrassed - but managed to tell Santa he wanted some Legos.
Emma on the other hand...She wanted NOTHING to do with Santa! Didn't even want to be in the same room as him! When he first showed up and walked through the gym she totally freaked out. But me being the mean Mommy that I am HAD to get a picture. I really thought she was going to climb on top of my head though. She was NOT impressed in the least. Hmmm...and we still have to get our picture with all four of them with him at the mall.... I'm sure that's going to be fun.
