Marcotte's Family Motel
The motel we stayed at was about 20 minutes outside of Galena. It was a little family owned motel on the side of the road. The kind that used to be all over about 20 - 30 years ago before all the big chains took over. Yes, the decor was little outdated but the kindness of the people who ran the place and the price for a three room apartment with a full kitchen more than made up for it. Every morning we would wake up to hot coffee and muffins sitting outside our door for breakfast. We also had to go run for help one night when a "giant" spider tried to take over our room - thankfully Art was around to dispose of him..and didn't make too much fun of us wimpy girls :) Thanks Donna & Art for a fantastic stay!!
Emily showing off the first microwave ever made ;o) It worked though! |
Ronda grilling our steaks on our own deck! |
I was in charge of the cheesy potatoes and the baked beans on the stove. Yeah, I can cook from a box! |
Dinner Time |
Mmmmm...yummy. I could go for one of those steaks about now. |
