Game Day

May 19, 2010
Game day was a ton of fun! It was of course the first year that I have had two kids in school so I got to start out the fun with a picnic with both of them on the school lawn. We had pb&j sandwiches, chips, strawberries, cheese sticks and drinks. It was lovely. After we'd finished up our lunches they got to run around for a little bit and then it was time for the games to begin. I was "drafted" at the face painting table so I didn't get to see the boys do a lot of the things but every time I saw them they had huge smiles on their faces and were having a blast!
Picnic time!
Patrick & Roman
Lining up - getting ready for lots of FUN!!
Benny, waiting patiently to get his face painted. He chose the St. Louis Cardinals logo - I knew I'd raised him right!!! Turns out we have a huge Cardinal fan base at our school...I definitely painted more of those than anything else all day. I did end up having to paint one Cubs logo... but I almost 'accidentally' messed it up ;)
Patrick & his facepaint.
This is Patrick's bud, Blaine...I did his glasses & moustache. I thought they turned out pretty cute.
The highlight of the day for the kids though, was when the teachers dressed up in sumo wrestler suits and tried to wrestle each other! It was pretty funny. The female teachers mostly danced around and fell over a couple of times, but the P.E. teacher and principal had the kids hooting and hollering for sure!
Patrick got to carry the card around announcing the "Main Event".
I wouldn't want to make that principal mad!
At the end of the day they all got to enjoy a frozen lemonade treat. It was the perfect end to a great afternoon! The weather was beautiful and everyone had a wonderful time!
