Fifth of July

July 5, 2009
Since it rained on the 4th, we did our little backyard "fireworks" on the fifth. We had sparklers, poppers, and smoke bombs. The kids loved them. I think we went through about three or four boxes of sparklers! My personal favorite are the smoke bombs - I LOVE the smell of them! What a great time! And no one got burned - even better!

Benny with his sparkler.
Not real sure what Patrick is doing....dueling perhaps? I don't know - but he sure looks goofy!
Grace thought they were pretty.

Mark helping Emma pull on the thing that shot out streamers. She wasn't terribly impressed.

Isn't the smoke from the smoke bombs pretty? Smelled good too! It was cool - there wasn't much breeze so the smoke kind of hung in the air - until....

Patrick - running through the smoke.

We went to see fireworks again that night with Ma & Wes (Nana & Grampy). It was a much nicer/drier evening! Ate some doughnuts (fried biscuits rolled in sugar) and drank some grape pop while we watched a good show!
