Soccer

The boys started soccer this month and they both love it! Patrick moved up a level this year and now plays on the 2-3 team (2nd & 3rd graders). It is the first time they have "real" officials and keep official score. So far he's won two games, lost one. He's improved a lot since that first season of hanging on the goal and chasing his shadow :)
Benjamin is in his last season as a "Pee-Wee". This fall he'll graduate to the K-1 team (kindergarteners & 1st graders). He's a great little soccer player. He's not afraid at all of the ball and gets right in there to get it. We had to have a little talk with him about not stealing the ball from your own teammates though. In pee-wee they have no goalies and Benny makes at least 5 or 6 goals a game. He'd make a lot more though except he usually kicks the ball about six inches on either side of the goal! I'm excited to watch him develop his abilities as he grows!
Gracie is usually our little cheerleader! During this game though she was having some "issues". Hopefully I'll be able to post a happier picture later. During one game - she refused to cheer for Benny's team, she wanted the other team to win because she liked their shirts better! It was so funny! She cheered, "Go GREEN! Go GREEN!" through the whole game. Luckily Benny didn't seem to mind. We all can't wait until it is warmer so we don't have to bundle up to watch.
