On a Hike

I love it when we can all have fun doing the same activity. So many times Patrick and Benny are bored because we are doing "baby" stuff or "girlie" stuff. Or, Grace & Emma can't participate because what we're doing is for "big kids" or "boys only". Well, about a week and a half ago, before Mark got home from China, we loaded up into the van and went for hot dogs and ice cream for supper - I have to be the good guy sometimes, especially when Mark's been gone for 5 weeks! They loved their suppers and then after we pigged out on some ice cream we went up to the park and discovered a bunch of trails out through the woods. We all had a great time exploring and wandering around in the woods. By the time we left it was almost starting to get dark. It was a great evening! We had so much fun we went and did it again a few days later when Mark got home!

This was a BIG hill! I'm surprised Emma made it up without being carried. She actually made the entire hike all by herself! She's getting to be such a big girl!

I let the kids lead the way most of the time. They love it when they think they are in charge.
