On a Drive

The kids love to go on drives in the evenings. It's the perfect thing to do to calm down before bedtime sometimes. If I'm feeling extremely stressed or just need a break at the end of the day, we'll just jump in the car and drive around for a little while. They love looking for animals and we'll count how many deer, rabbits, raccoons and such along the way. We usually go the same way each time but occasionally I'll let the kids take turns deciding which way to turn and where to go. It's really fun that way and I've seen things that I would have never have seen before if we hadn't ended up there by accident. These pictures are from a trip along our "usual" route last week right after a storm blew through.

The river is way up due to all the rain we've had lately.

This is the sky to the east after the storm.
The clouds were really this color!
Down the road.
We saw about 7 deer that night.
This deer off in the distance is a buck.
She wasn't afraid of us...she just casually walked across the road.
The sunset was really nice that night too.
I just thought this was a pretty shot.
I'm a fence & barn geek. I'm totally in love with old barns so I'm warning you now that I may have a whole post full of barn pics sometime this summer :)
