The Wedding Day

Pre-Wedding Pictures

The day of the wedding was super crazy! We started out the day by eating breakfast at the hotel and then Diana, Emily, Grace, Lisa, Ayla & Wynona all went to get our nails done. What I didn't realize was that we were getting manicures AND pedicures. I had no idea we were getting pedicures so I hadn't bothered to shave my legs that morning since I was planning to take a shower in the afternoon before the wedding. I hear the look on my face was priceless. I was mortified. Some strange guy was rubbing his hands all over my prickly legs! Other than that it was a great time. Grace didn't know what to think! She got to sit in a chair just for little girls. It was pink and had a pink bear head on it. I don't think I've ever seen her as quiet as I did that day - she was speechless. Unfortunately I didn't think to take my camera so I don't have any pictures.

The wedding was supposed to take place outdoors but about two hours before the ceremony a HUGE storm blew up and it got crazy for a while! The bad weather hit while we were on our way to the wedding for pictures. It was crazy windy and the rain was really heavy. So of course that put everything onto "plan b" - the wedding and pictures would be indoors. Sadly, the storm knocked out all but emergency power at the wedding venue! It was interesting trying to get everything set up and pictures taken. Luckily the room where they set up for the ceremony and pictures had tons of windows so it was plenty light.

It was a long wait before the wedding got started.  Benny looks a little forlorn here.

We practically had to tie them to chairs for a while... it was torture for them to have to sit that long with nothing to do.  I think we ended up waiting about 2 1/2 hours.  I really should have packed coloring books or something.

The beautiful bride.  She didn't seem flustered in the least!  I'd have been a mess.  It must be the mimosa ;)

Alya is waiting to give Reid his lei.  She looks all grown up.  Just when did that happen?  Isn't she gorgeous?
